Dialogues between the Sacred and the Profane: Galleria Borghese meets the Annunciation from Treviso Cathedral,\u201d curated by Maria Giovanna Sarti. This dossier exhibition presents for the first time a direct comparison between Titian\u2019s Annunciation, on loan from Treviso Cathedral, and the works by the Venetian master already housed in the museum&#8217;s galleries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The initiative is part of the celebrations marking the 450th anniversary of Titian\u2019s death and continues the series of dossier exhibitions through which Galleria Borghese explores specific themes or core groups within its collection by bringing them into dialogue with works from other institutions. This format was inaugurated in 2022 with a project dedicated precisely to Titian: \u201cTitian. Dialogues of Nature and Love,\u201d which paired the <i>Nymph and Shepherd<\/i> from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna with several paintings by Titian from the Borghese collection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The focal point of the exhibition is the Annunciation from Treviso Cathedral, temporarily relocated to Rome while restoration work is carried out on the frescoes by Pordenone in the Malchiostro Chapel. Prior to being loaned, the panel underwent major conservation work, which yielded new elements for its interpretation. These include an inscription featuring the date, Titian&#8217;s signature, and a reference to the patron.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The exhibition is made possible thanks to the generous loan from the Diocese of Treviso, with the scientific contribution of the Centro Studi Tiziano e Cadore Foundation, in collaboration with the Magnifica Comunit\u00e0 di Cadore, and with the support of the DBA Group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From October 20 to December 8, 2026, Galleria Borghese is hosting \u201cTitian.
