Here Flora is represented as the mother of plants and flowers according to the iconography of Ovid\u2019s <em>Fasti.<\/em>.The trompe-oeil elements and vegetal volutes, instead, were painted by <strong>Giovan Battista Marchetti <\/strong>(1730\u20131800).<br \/>\nThe last of the six fireplaces on the first floor, the work of <strong>Luigi <\/strong>(1726-1785) and <strong>Giuseppe Valadier <\/strong>(1762-1839) was built in 1786, with the collaoration of <strong>Antonio De Rossi <\/strong>(active in the second half of the eighteenth century) for the gilded bronze sheet and <strong>Domenico Cialdi <\/strong>(active in the second half of the eighteenth century) for the internal facing with polychrome tiles.<br \/>\nThe paintings on display show the influence of Michelangelo on artists from different places in the second half of the sixteenth century.<br \/>\nAmong the works are the <em>Christ Deposed with Mary Magdalene and Two Angels <\/em>by <strong>Marcello Venusti <\/strong>(1512-1579) and the <em>Adoration of the Child <\/em>by <strong>Pellegrino Tibaldi <\/strong>(1527-1596).<br \/>\nThe two little allegories by <strong>Jacopo Zucchi <\/strong>(c. 1540 - c. 1596), executed on copper, probably come from Ferdinando de\u2018 Medici\u2019s study in Rome.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The room takes its name from the subject depicted in the middle of the ceiling, executed in 1785 by Domenico De Angelis (1735\u20131804).
