On Thursday, April 30, 2026, Galleria Borghese celebrates Egyptian culture, both ancient and modern, through words and music.<\/span><\/p>\n

At 7:15 PM, an in-depth seminar is scheduled with Professor Pierluigi Panza, titled “The Architecture of the Pharaohs. The Millennial Charm of Egypt in European Architecture,” which will offer a broad look at the influence exerted by Egyptian wisdom and its figurative tradition on the formation of the European imagination in the modern age. This legacy fueled treatises, philosophical thought, and the arts, while also stimulating the intellectual curiosity of figures such as the architect Antonio Asprucci, the protagonist of the renovation of Galleria Borghese in the late eighteenth century.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the conference, a piano and violin duo will perform \u2018<\/b>Egypt in Music in the Hall of the Emperors,\u2019<\/b> a concert featuring a curated selection of musical piecesto highlight the great impact Egypt had on Western classical production. Composers such as Jules Massenet and, above all, Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns conceived pieces or settings based on repeated travels and stays in that land, bringing back impressions and knowledge, but especially atmospheres. Today, through music, these atmospheres will spread to the Egyptian Room of Galleria Borghese, among the highest expressions of revival and fascination for that exotic world.<\/span><\/p>\n
