On Monday, May 18, at 5:00 PM, the volume published by Carocci and edited by Chiara Di Monte and Mauro Mottinelli, titled The World of the Deaf in 150 Questions<\/i><\/strong>, will be presented in the Salone di Lanfranco.<\/p>\n

Galleria Borghese has always been a museum deeply committed to accessibility through extensive and ongoing programming aimed at opening its doors to new audiences and building lasting relationships. By promoting active participation for people with disabilities and those at risk of exclusion\u2014including the Deaf community\u2014the Gallery serves as the ideal setting for the presentation of this volume. Founded on solid theoretical and empirical foundations, the book offers an essential tool for exploring the multifaceted perspectives on deafness and its sociocultural dimension.<\/p>\n

Through a multidisciplinary approach and a question-and-answer structure that facilitates easy consultation, the text addresses the linguistic, pedagogical, psychological, and sociological dimensions of Deaf culture and the community. It offers an articulated reflection on identity dynamics, sign language, and the primary educational and social challenges related to deafness. Consequently, this work establishes itself as a first-of-its-kind reference in the Italian scientific landscape for educators, interpreters, parents, and scholars interested in a critical and conscious understanding of the experiences of Deaf people.<\/p>\n
