“CREATION IS TRANSFORMATION” THE FAMILY ITINERARY DEDICATED TO THE METAMORPHOSES

“CREATION IS TRANSFORMATION” THE FAMILY ITINERARY DEDICATED TO THE METAMORPHOSES

From June 23 to September 22, 2026, every Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 PM, Galleria Borghese offers a tour dedicated to families to discover the power of transformation through Ovid’s myths and the works in the exhibition. This 80-minute visit is designed for children accompanied by their family members.

In the Metamorphoses, transformation is not just change: it is vital energy, creative force, and a chance for rebirth. Through paintings and sculptures, the tour invites adults and children alike to explore how every change can generate new forms, new solutions, and new worlds, guided by the power of imagination.

The visit begins in the Mariano Rossi Hall, where the myths of creation are told, from original Chaos to the birth of the elements, through works such as the painting by Louis Finson, Rodin’s Earth, and Brancusi’s Prometheus. The journey continues with the famous metamorphosis of Daphne, transformed into a laurel tree to escape Apollo, and proceeds to the first floor with the surprising transformations of Zeus, featured in the works dedicated to Leda and the Swan and Danae.

The tour concludes amidst the charm and mystery of Medusa, depicted by Rubens, and the myth of Pygmalion, the artist capable of bringing his own creation to life.

This initiative is intended for children aged 5 to 11 accompanied by family members. The cost is €5 per child and per accompanying adult, in addition to the ticket price. Availability is valid until sold out, and booking is mandatory.
