GALLERIA BORGHESE IN LIS: EXPERIENCE ART WITH A DEAF GUIDE
For five years now, Galleria Borghese has been committed to making the history of its collections increasingly accessible to the deaf community, promoting opportunities for gathering, learning, and participation.
On the occasion of the International Week of Deaf People, we are pleased to launch a new project of guided tours in Italian Sign Language (LIS), born from listening and dialogue with our audiences and from the desire to respond to an increasingly curious, engaged community interested in discovering the museum.
The goal is simple and important: to experience Galleria Borghese together, including with friends, and to make it increasingly a familiar place—a place to frequent and live in on a daily basis.
Starting on Saturday, October 10, Dr. Nonno, a deaf guide and museum collaborator, will lead visitors on a LIS guided tour of the exhibition “Metamorphosis. Ovid and the Arts,” which features a selection of works inspired by Ovid’s famous Metamorphoses.
The tours will continue according to a monthly schedule, also built based on the requests of participants, who can write to ga-bor.accessibilita@cultura.
A way to help make the museum an increasingly accessible, inclusive, and familiar place. The tour is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
