PERCHÉ L’ITALIANO? STORIA DI UNA METAMORFOSI BY JHUMPA LAHIRI
With the upcoming opening of the exhibition Metamorphoses. Ovid and the Arts – on June 23 – Galleria Borghese offers a program of events to accompany the public on a journey through the theme of transformation. A dynamic path between art and myth, designed to stimulate thought, emotion and dialogue.
On Wednesday, May 13, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a meeting will take place featuring the Bengali-American writer Jhumpa Lahiri and Fabio Pedone, translator and scholar. The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss translation, a theme close to Jhumpa Lahiri. Translating is a way of recognizing oneself, a sort of continuous metamorphosis: it is a process of change shaped by encounters and choices, taking shape in this collection of essays on translation and self-translation.
Participation in the event is free, and reservations are mandatory at this link
